Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Pyeryo-l |
Planet type | Warm gas giant |
Pyeryo-l is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth. Pyeryo-l is orbiting Kepler-447 every 7.8 Earth days.
This planet is named after the deity Pyeryo-l, the demon of the sea.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to Kepler-447, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 157 days.
Pyeryo-l is gravitationally locked with Kepler-447 in a 3:2 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.
It is radically different from Earth in other respects.
It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other warm gas giants, Pyeryo-l lacks a well-defined magnetic field. |
