Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Tebyo |
Planet type | Large cold gas giant |
It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 83°K (-190°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with oxygen thought to make up the lowest clouds, and molecular hydrogen the uppermost layer of clouds. This large cold gas giant is named after the deity Tebyo, the spirit of nature.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of frozen gas.
Tebyo is primarily composed of molecular hydrogen with a significant part of its mass being oxygen, though oxygen comprises only about a small fraction of the number of molecules. |
