Suggested name | Decar Loge |
Planet type | Warm planet |
It is named after the deity Decar Loge, the goddess of chaos.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly four times for every two revolutions it makes around Kepler-37.
Decar Loge is a warm planet and is sometimes called Earth's "sister planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to Kepler-37, and bulk composition. The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 0.4 bar, or roughly the pressure found 1440 m under the oceans of Earth. The ozone has probably photodissociated, and the free krypton has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a planetary magnetic field.
The volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 9 meters. |
