Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Dera-cymi-mu |
Planet type | Cold planet |
This planet is named after the deity Dera-cymi-mu, the god of war.
Dera-cymi-mu is gravitationally locked with Kepler-344 in a 3:2 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system. As seen from Kepler-344, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.
Because of its fast rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). |
