Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Youp-yue |
Planet type | Terrestrial |
This terrestrial is named after the deity Youp-yue, the demon of dreams.
When viewed from Earth, this proximity to Kepler-331 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
Youp-yue is gravitationally locked with Kepler-331 in a 4:3 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system. An observer on Youp-yue would therefore see only one sunrise every five years.
Youp-yue's axis has the smallest tilt of any of its solar system's planets.
Because of its fast rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). |
