Suggested name | Shuyonhe Chu |
Planet type | Warm planet |
Shuyonhe Chu and Gugyukyu Onkya are warm planets rich in iron. Shuyonhe Chu has been known to astronomers since antiquity. The planet is named after the deity Shuyonhe Chu, the demon of nature.
Shuyonhe Chu is a warm planet and is sometimes called Gugyukyu Onkya's "twin planet" because of their similar size, mass, proximity to Kepler-330, and bulk composition. Shuyonhe Chu is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light.
Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Shuyonhe Chu 2500 and ExoShuyonhe Chu rovers. The volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 6 meters.
Shuyonhe Chu has been explored on several occasions by robotic spacecraft, most notably during the early Pioneer and Frontier flyby missions and later by the Hotchins orbiter.
Wind speeds can reach 86 metres per second. |
