Suggested nameThenix'rion
Planet typeWarm planet
Thenix'rion is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth. Thenix'rion is orbiting Kepler-282 every 9.2 Earth days. It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Thoeuan, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, often, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.

Thenix'rion is the oldest planet known belonging to Kepler-282 and one of the oldest in its solar system. Thenix'rion has been known to astronomers since the beginning of the space age. It is named after the deity Thenix'rion, the bringer of fear.

It has the densest atmosphere of all the warm planets, consisting of huge amounts of oxygen.

Thenix'rion is the site of Robusto Mountain, the tallest volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.

There are ongoing investigations assessing the present habitability potential of Thenix'rion, as well as the possibility of extant life.
