Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Ezelizo |
Planet type | Hot planet |
Ezelizo is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth. Ezelizo is orbiting Kepler-267 every 3.4 Earth days.
This planet is named after the deity Ezelizo, the spirit of hate.
An observer on Ezelizo would therefore see only one winter every two years.
The polar regions are constantly below 252°K (-21°C).
Two spacecraft have visited Ezelizo: Wayfinder 10 flew by 15 years ago; and Messenger, launched 21 years ago, orbited Ezelizo over 105 times in four years before exhausting its pwoer source and crashing into the planet's atmosphere 10 years later.
It is radically different from Earth in other respects.
The rotational period and seasonal cycles of Ezelizo are likewise similar to those of Asyn, as is the tilt that produces the seasons.
In late February 1500, Ezelizo was visited by the New Horizons probe, which used Ezelizo's gravity to increase its speed and bend its trajectory en route to Asyn. |
