Suggested nameOgirya-tsu
Planet typeWarm planet
This warm planet is named after the deity Ogirya-tsu, the goddess of dreams.

Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 175°K (-98°C) at night to 980°K (707°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.

Ogirya-tsu was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.

Ogirya-tsu is the site of Ars Montanus, the largest volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.

Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Ogirya-tsu 3000 and ExoOgirya-tsu rovers. The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of frozen gas.
