Suggested name | Thealassa |
Planet type | Hot planet |
In English, Thealassa is often referred to as the "white planet" because the carbon dioxide prevalent on its surface gives it a strange white appearance that is distinctive among the astronomical bodies visible to the naked eye.
The planet is named after the deity Thealassa, the spirit of dreams.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly four times for every three revolutions it makes around Kepler-243. As seen from Kepler-243, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.
It has the densest atmosphere of the hot planets, consisting mostly of water. It may have had oxygen oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect.
The largest moon is said to have unreliable interesting humanoids called the "Greip-si". They spend their life in lakes by devouring the somewhat smaller "Crestito'mone". Greip-si are related to Taniasete, have fur and vary in size from 40 to 60 mm. Greip-si can withstand temperatures from -10 to 20°C and drought. |
