Suggested nameByukachu
Planet typeHot gas giant
This planet is named after the deity Byukachu, the goddess of the underworld.

Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 85°K (-188°C) at night to 525°K (252°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.

As the closest planet to Woneba Gigo, Byukachu has been a prime target for early interplanetary exploration.

In November 2200, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Byukachu.

A prominent result is the "great yellow spot", a giant storm that is known to have existed for centuries since it was first observed by radar.

In 1092, images from Frontier 5 showed Byukachu as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other hot gas giants.
