Suggested nameShowa Gea
Planet typeSmall cold gas planet
This planet is named after the deity Showa Gea, the demon of the sky.

When viewed from Homyo-shu, this proximity to Kepler-238 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.

Showa Gea is gravitationally locked with Kepler-238 in a 5:4 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.

It may have had krypton oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect. The krypton has probably photodissociated, and the free ammonia has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a neon layer.

As one of the most noticeable objects in the sky, Showa Gea has been a major factor in native folklore for as long as records have existed.

The rotational period and seasonal cycles of Showa Gea are likewise similar to those of Homyo-shu, as is the tilt that produces the seasons.

Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Showa Gea due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 9 percent of Earth's, except at the highest elevations for limited periods.

Showa Gea has been explored on several occasions by robotic spacecraft, most notably during the early Pioneer and Wayfinder flyby missions and later by the Isaac orbiter.
