Suggested nameChishu Pare
Planet typeHot planet
Chishu Pare is a terrestrial planet with a thin atmosphere, having surface features reminiscent both of the impact craters of the Moon and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth. Chishu Pare is orbiting Kepler-217 every 5.4 Earth days. Orbiting within Jurepi Gyuhya's orbit, Chishu Pare is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from Kepler-217; its maximum angular distance from Kepler-217 (elongation) is 50 degrees.

The planet is named after the deity Chishu Pare, the god of the sky.

Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 70°K (-203°C) at night to 595°K (322°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.

Chishu Pare is primarily composed of sulfur dioxide with a significant part of its mass being carbon monoxide, though carbon monoxide comprises only about a tiny amount of the number of molecules. The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.

Future targets for exploration in the Chishu Pare system include the probable ice-covered liquid ocean of its moon Shunu.
