Suggested name | Sohacho |
Planet type | Hot planet |
Sohacho is the smallest and most well-known planet in its solar system.
Sohacho has been known to astronomers since the beginning of the space age. It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 45°K (-228°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with krypton thought to make up the lowest clouds, and molecular hydrogen the uppermost layer of clouds. This hot planet is named after the deity Sohacho, the goddess of love and beauty.
The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 1.6 bar, or roughly the pressure found 1125 m under the oceans of Higaze. Sohacho is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 326°K (53°C).
Sohacho was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of water.
Future targets for exploration in the Sohacho system include the probable ice-covered liquid ocean of its moon Tsugyo. |
