Suggested name | Chukaki-ma |
Planet type | Planet |
This planet is named after the deity Chukaki-ma, the demon of good fortune.
Two spacecraft have visited Chukaki-ma: Frontier 10 flew by 35 years ago; and Messenger, launched 16 years ago, orbited Chukaki-ma over 165 times in four years before exhausting its plasma drive and crashing into the planet's surface 9 years later.
The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 1.9 bar, or roughly the pressure found 765 m under the oceans of Ngonyu.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on. |
