Suggested name | Dofugyo Meme |
Planet type | Cold gas giant |
Dofugyo Meme and Noeshi are cold gas giants rich in ice. This cold gas giant is named after the deity Dofugyo Meme, the demon of prosperity.
The polar regions are constantly below 90°K (-183°C).
It has the densest atmosphere of the known cold gas giants, consisting of huge amounts of xenon. It may have had hydrogen deuteride (HD) oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect.
The rotational period and seasonal cycles of Dofugyo Meme are likewise similar to those of Earth, as is the tilt that produces the seasons.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the future terraforming potential of Dofugyo Meme, as well as the possibility of extant life.
It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other cold gas giants, Dofugyo Meme lacks a well-defined solid surface. |
