Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Dyuan |
Planet type | Warm planet |
Its orbital period around Kepler-168 of 13 earth days is the longest of all the planets in its solar system.
This warm planet is named after the deity Dyuan, the messenger of hate.
Like Waner Xweng, Dyuan has been orbiting Kepler-168 within Eixer Syouw's orbit as an inferior planet, and never moves more than 14 degrees away from Kepler-168.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 110°K (-163°C) at night to 735°K (462°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Dyuan's hazy clouds render observation of its surface difficult in visible light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 62 years ago. |
