Suggested name | Icar Anaw Ed |
Planet type | Large cold gas giant |
Orbiting within Ilenib'iz's orbit, Icar Anaw Ed is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from Kepler-167; its maximum angular distance from Kepler-167 (elongation) is 41 degrees.
This large cold gas giant is named after the deity Icar Anaw Ed, the goddess of good fortune.
At this time it may appear as a bright star-like object, but is often far more difficult to observe than Ilenib'iz.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 450 kilometers across when Icar Anaw Ed is closest because of Ilenib'iz's atmosphere. |
