Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Briel |
Planet type | Cold planet |
When viewed from Deiso Me, Briel can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. The interior of Briel is mainly composed of ices and magma. It is named after the deity Briel, the creator of prosperity.
It is radically different from Earth in other respects.
Briel was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
Plans have been proposed for rovers or more complex missions, but they are hindered by Briel's hazardous precipitation.
Briel is the site of Olympus Mons, the most active volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.
The largest moon, Rime-loge, has a diameter greater than that of the planet Jupiter. |
