Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Ihajud |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
It is named after the deity Ihajud, the messenger of fear.
As seen relative to the fixed stars, it rotates on its axis exactly five times for every two revolutions it makes around Kepler-1625.
Ihajud's surface is a dry desertscape interspersed with slab-like rocks and is periodically resurfaced by volcanism.
Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 315 kilometers across when Ihajud is closest because of Earth's atmosphere.
The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.
Like the other huge cold gas giants, Ihajud has a ring system, a magnetosphere, and numerous moons, Ahit being the most studied one. |
