Suggested name | Bweiqyan-yat |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Bweiqyan-yat is the largest and most round planet in its solar system.
Bweiqyan-yat and Erjyune are cold planets rich in gas. This planet is named after the deity Bweiqyan-yat, the bringer of the underworld.
Its orbital eccentricity is the largest of all known planets in its solar system; at perihelion, Bweiqyan-yat's distance from Kepler-1613 is only about two-thirds (or 66 pct) of its distance at aphelion.
As one of the most prominent objects in the sky, Bweiqyan-yat has been a major factor in native culture for as long as records have existed. Bweiqyan-yat was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 29 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.
In 2681, images from Frontier 4 showed Bweiqyan-yat as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other cold planets. |
