The carbon monoxide has probably photodissociated, and the free water vapor has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a planetary magnetic field.
As one of the most prominent objects in the sky, Yangmenh has been a major factor in native folklore for as long as records have existed.
