Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Nuto Horyo |
Planet type | Cold planet |
The planet is named after the deity Nuto Horyo, the bringer of love and beauty.
An observer on Nuto Horyo would therefore see only one summer every two years.
It may have had hydrogen oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect. The hydrogen has probably photodissociated, and the free ammonia has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a oxygen layer.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on. |
Atmosphere | Ammonia | 40% |
2H2O | 34% |
Hydrogen | 17% |
Oxygen | 8.2% |
