Suggested name | Trin Ly |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Trin Ly is the only habitable planet orbiting Kepler-1513 and one of the largest in its solar system. This cold planet is named after the deity Trin Ly, the goddess of the underworld.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 175°K (-98°C) at night to 910°K (637°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Trin Ly due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 8 percent of Earth's, except at the lowest elevations for short periods. In November 1700, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Trin Ly.
Like a few of the other cold planets, Trin Ly has a ring system, a magnetosphere, and numerous moons, Trin-saophaë being the most famous one.
The largest moon is said to have unpredictable poisonous oceanic creatures known to survive by killing anything they find in the shade. They are related to the Bosnoe-dus and have 3 eyes and vary in length from 4 to 7 cm. They are known to live at temperatures from -60 to -10°C and ultra violet light. |
