Suggested name | Wuqei Qyou |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is a cold planet planet with a mass one-thousandth that of Kepler-148, but two-and-a-half times that of all the other planets in its solar system combined. This cold planet is named after the deity Wuqei Qyou, the messenger of good fortune.
Wuqei Qyou's surface appears very bruised and is similar in appearance to the Moon's, indicating that it has been geologically inactive for billions of years. Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 75°K (-198°C) at night to 980°K (707°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Wuqei Qyou is the site of Ars Montanus, the tallest volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.
Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Wuqei Qyou 1900 and ExoWuqei Qyou rovers.
In late February 2300, Wuqei Qyou was visited by the New Horizons probe, which used Wuqei Qyou's gravity to increase its speed and bend its trajectory en route to Weich-yang. |
