Suggested name | Ewuxyxe |
Planet type | Cold planet |
When viewed from Osaw, Ewuxyxe can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. Ewuxyxe's atmosphere is similar to Osaw's in its primary composition of carbon dioxide and hydrogen peroxide, but it contains more "ices" such as water, ammonia, and methane, along with traces of other hydrocarbons. This cold planet is named after the deity Ewuxyxe, the spirit of the underworld.
The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 9 bar, or roughly the pressure found 1125 m under the oceans of Earth. The carbon monoxide has probably photodissociated, and the free carbon dioxide has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a hydrogen deuteride (HD) layer. Ewuxyxe's surface is a barren desertscape interspersed with slab-like rocks and is periodically resurfaced by volcanism.
It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other cold planets, Ewuxyxe lacks a well-defined magnetic field. |
