It is named after the deity Nuzo-ja, the messenger of nature.
The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of water. The volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 10 meters.
A prominent result is the "great white spot", a giant storm that is known to have existed for centuries since it was first detected by scanner. |
