Suggested name | Xying-x |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Xying-x is the fourth planet from Kepler-1305 and the second-smallest planet in its solar system.
When viewed from Waihwo, Xying-x can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. This planet is named after the deity Xying-x, the god of love and beauty.
Xying-x is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 587°K (314°C).
As the closest planet to Waihwo, Xying-x has been a prime target for early extra solar exploration. It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on. Xying-x's hazy atmosphere render observation of its surface challenging in visible light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 48 years ago.
The smooth Borealis basin in the northern hemisphere covers 33 percent of the planet and may be a giant impact feature.
In November 1700, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Xying-x.
Xying-x is primarily composed of carbon dioxide with a significant part of its mass being oxygen, though oxygen comprises only about a small amount of the number of molecules.
This unpleasant place is said to have passive minded medieval aliens that feed on the surface by devouring smaller pray in the shade. Most of them are related to the Waixyuan-myi, have 2 tentacles and vary in size from 70 to 130 meters. They are known to survive temperatures from -100 to -60°C and also severe infection which is common near the poles. |
