Suggested name | Meabe Nya |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Meabe Nya is the smallest and most crater filled planet in its solar system. Orbiting within Mure's orbit, Meabe Nya is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from Kepler-1261; its maximum angular distance from Kepler-1261 (elongation) is 46 degrees.
It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 33°K (-240°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with hydrogen deuteride (HD) thought to make up the lowest clouds, and ethane the uppermost layer of clouds. This cold planet is named after the deity Meabe Nya, the spirit of chaos.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to Kepler-1261, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 110 days.
Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 420 kilometers across when Meabe Nya is closest because of Earth's atmosphere.
It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other cold planets, Meabe Nya lacks a well-defined atmosphere. |
