Suggested name | Iaras The |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Orbiting within Munymir's orbit, Iaras The is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from Kepler-1232; its maximum angular distance from Kepler-1232 (elongation) is 43 degrees.
Iaras The is the only habitable planet orbiting Kepler-1232 and one of the oldest in its solar system. This planet is named after the deity Iaras The, the bringer of the sea.
When viewed from Munymir, this proximity to Kepler-1232 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning. At this time it may appear as a bright star-like object, but is often far more difficult to observe than Munymir.
Iaras The is gravitationally locked with Kepler-1232 in a 4:3 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.
It may also have a rocky core of heavier elements, but like the other cold planets, Iaras The lacks a well-defined ozone layer. |
