Suggested name | Tozoc-u |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is named after the deity Tozoc-u, the bringer of the underworld.
Tozoc-u is gravitationally locked with Kepler-1188 in a 5:4 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.
As the closest planet to Fuxana, Tozoc-u has been a prime target for early interplanetary exploration. Plans have been proposed for rovers or more complex missions, but they are hindered by Tozoc-u's hazardous precipitation.
In late February 3200, Tozoc-u was visited by the New Horizons probe, which used Tozoc-u's gravity to increase its speed and bend its trajectory en route to Fuxana. |
