Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Swengx |
Planet type | Small cold gas planet |
Swengx is similar in composition to Obweiy Aich, and both have different bulk chemical composition from that of the larger small cold gas planets. This small cold gas planet is named after the deity Swengx, the goddess of the sea.
When viewed from Earth, this proximity to Kepler-109 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
It is radically different from Earth in other respects.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the past habitability potential of Swengx, as well as the possibility of extant life. The volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 19 meters.
The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries. |
