Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Julthe Menoe |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Julthe Menoe is similar in composition to Pinasi Ce, and both have different bulk chemical composition from that of the larger cold planets. This planet is named after the deity Julthe Menoe, the demon of prosperity.
Julthe Menoe is gravitationally locked with Kepler-1016 in a 3:2 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the future terraforming potential of Julthe Menoe, as well as the possibility of extant life. In November 1000, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Julthe Menoe.
Because of its fast rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). |
