Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Stotho |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Stotho is the fourth planet from Kepler-1005 and the second-smallest planet in its solar system.
Stotho has been known to astronomers since antiquity. The interior of Stotho is mainly composed of ices and molten metal. This cold planet is named after the deity Stotho, the demon of destruction.
The oxygen has probably photodissociated, and the free water has been swept into interplanetary space by the solar wind because of the lack of a planetary magnetic field.
It was the one of the first exoplanets visited by a spacecraft, and one of the first to be successfully landed on. Plans have been proposed for rovers or more complex missions, but they are hindered by Stotho's strong magnetosphere.
The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.
The oceans are known for its dangerous poisonous herbivores known as "Ymir-keanan". They spend their life in deep valleys by killing the Qeqthe'siiso plant if the weather permits it. Most Ymir-keanan are related to the Theemaka but have scales and vary in length from 50 to 80 mm. They are able to endure temperatures from 70 to 160°C and even electrical shock. |
