Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Obenis |
Planet type | Hot planet |
It is the coldest planetary atmosphere in its solar system, with a minimum temperature of 35°K (-238°C), and has a complex, layered cloud structure with methane thought to make up the lowest clouds, and hydrogen chloride the uppermost layer of clouds. The planet is named after the deity Obenis, the god of good fortune.
Obenis is the site of Robusto Montanus, the tallest volcano and second-highest known mountain in its solar system, and of Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in its solar system.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the future terraforming potential of Obenis, as well as the possibility of extant life.
Wind speeds can reach 153 metres per second. |
