Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Byumyo Pezo |
Planet type | Cold gas giant |
This planet is named after the deity Byumyo Pezo, the god of love and beauty.
The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 23 bar, or roughly the pressure found 450 m under the oceans of Earth. Byumyo Pezo is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 283°K (10°C), even though Kyuracha is closer to KMT-2021-BLG-1898. It may have had water vapor oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect.
Byumyo Pezo's thick atmosphere make observation of its surface challenging in ultraviolet light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 40 years ago. |
