| In English, Geterese-rir is often referred to as the "brown planet" because the hydrogen chloride prevalent on its surface gives it a dark brown appearance that is unusual among the astronomical bodies visible to the naked eye. It has the longest rotation period (445 days) of any planet in its solar system and rotates in the opposite direction to most other planets.
This cold gas giant is named after the deity Geterese-rir, the bringer of prosperity.
The polar regions are constantly below 207°K (-66°C).
As one of the most prominent objects in the sky, Geterese-rir has been a major inspiration in native culture for as long as records have existed.
Geterese-rir can easily be seen from Munle Fer with the naked eye, as can its brownish coloring.
In 2185, images from Wayfinder 5 showed Geterese-rir as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other cold gas giants. |
