Suggested name | Xinete-zeno |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
Xinete-zeno is the smallest and most crater filled planet in its solar system. It has the longest rotation period (445 days) of any planet in its solar system and rotates in the opposite direction to most other planets.
It is named after the deity Xinete-zeno, the creator of the underworld.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to KMT-2019-BLG-0297, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 58 days.
Xinete-zeno is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light. It may have had carbon dioxide oceans in the past, but these would have vaporized as the temperature rose due to a runaway greenhouse effect.
Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Xinete-zeno 3000 and ExoXinete-zeno rovers.
Xinete-zeno can easily be seen from Irine Saleqa with the naked eye, as can its whiteish coloring.
Like a few of the other huge cold gas giants, Xinete-zeno has a ring system, a magnetosphere, and numerous moons, Nugemuv Ogedak being the most studied one. |
