Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Lywew |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Cahu-hypu-gu, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, often, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight. Orbiting within Cahu-hypu-gu's orbit, Lywew is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from K2-80; its maximum angular distance from K2-80 (elongation) is 46 degrees.
The planet is named after the deity Lywew, the spirit of hate.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to K2-80, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 203 days.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the past habitability potential of Lywew, as well as the possibility of extant life. The two polar ice caps appear to be made largely of ice.
The largest moon, Enepo'peby, has a diameter greater than that of the planet Neptune.
The Lywew system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. Its north and south poles, therefore, lie where most other planets have their equators. |
