Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Avazi-hur |
Planet type | Small warm gas planet |
It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Mokodyhe, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, often, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.
Avazi-hur is similar in composition to Mokodyhe, and both have different bulk chemical composition from that of the larger small warm gas planets. It is named after the deity Avazi-hur, the spirit of destruction.
As seen from K2-79, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.
Avazi-hur's thick clouds make observation of its surface challenging in visible light, and the first detailed maps did not emerge until the arrival of the Magellan orbiter 56 years ago.
The volume of water ice in the south polar ice cap, if melted, would be sufficient to cover the entire planetary surface to a depth of 6 meters. The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in the Black Sea. |
