Suggested name | Kinthys Ri |
Planet type | Small cold gas planet |
Its orbital period around K2-24 of 42 earth days is the longest of all the planets in its solar system. Orbiting within Climal Ia's orbit, Kinthys Ri is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from K2-24; its maximum angular distance from K2-24 (elongation) is 72 degrees.
This small cold gas planet is named after the deity Kinthys Ri, the spirit of the underworld.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to K2-24, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 186 days.
It is radically different from Earth in other respects. Kinthys Ri is by far the hottest planet in its solar system, with a mean surface temperature of 348°K (75°C).
Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Climal Ia, Alaehionn-per, and K2-24. |
