| This hot planet is named after the deity Prohali, the demon of hate.
Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Prohali 2900 and ExoProhali rovers. Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Prohali due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 7 percent of Earth's, except at the highest elevations for short periods. The volume of water detected has been estimated to be equivalent to the volume of water in Earth's oceans.
Optical ground-based telescopes are typically limited to resolving features about 420 kilometers across when Prohali is closest because of Earth's atmosphere.
The Prohali system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. |
