Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Maspan |
Planet type | Cold planet |
Orbiting within Selaris Silene's orbit, Maspan is an inferior planet and never appears to venture far from K2-219; its maximum angular distance from K2-219 (elongation) is 38 degrees.
This planet is named after the deity Maspan, the bringer of fear.
Having almost no atmosphere to retain heat, it has surface temperatures that vary diurnally more than on any other planet in its solar system, ranging from 125°K (-148°C) at night to 805°K (532°C) during the day across the equatorial regions.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Maspan due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 4 percent of Earth's, except at the lowest elevations for short periods. |
