Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Pyaka-shujo |
Planet type | Hot planet |
Pyaka-shujo is the oldest planet known belonging to K2-131 and one of the smallest in its solar system. Pyaka-shujo and Chogu Pya are hot planets rich in rock. The planet is named after the deity Pyaka-shujo, the demon of the underworld.
An observer on Pyaka-shujo would therefore see only one day every five years.
Pyaka-shujo's surface appears very cratered and is similar in appearance to the Moon's, indicating that it has been geologically inactive for billions of years.
Pyaka-shujo's surface is a dry desertscape interspersed with slab-like rocks and is periodically resurfaced by volcanism.
There are ongoing investigations assessing the present habitability potential of Pyaka-shujo, as well as the possibility of extant life.
The Pyaka-shujo system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. |
