Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Exit'iwol Ur |
Planet type | Hot planet |
It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Segefo, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, often, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.
When viewed from Segefo, Exit'iwol Ur can reach an apparent magnitude of -3, bright enough for its reflected light to cast shadows, and making it on average the third-brightest object in the night sky. This planet is named after the deity Exit'iwol Ur, the god of dreams.
Exit'iwol Ur is shrouded by an opaque layer of highly reflective clouds of sulfuric acid, preventing its surface from being seen from space in visible light.
As the closest planet to Segefo, Exit'iwol Ur has been a prime target for early interplanetary exploration.
The rotational period and seasonal cycles of Exit'iwol Ur are likewise similar to those of Segefo, as is the tilt that produces the seasons.
Liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Exit'iwol Ur due to low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 5 percent of Segefo's, except at the lowest elevations for short periods.
The Exit'iwol Ur system has a unique configuration among those of the planets because its axis of rotation is tilted sideways, nearly into the plane of its solar orbit. |
