Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Moston |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
It is named after the deity Moston, the goddess of chaos.
Moston is gravitationally locked with HR 7329 in a 2:1 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.
It has the densest atmosphere of the huge cold gas giants, consisting of huge amounts of neon.
Moston was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
The rotational period and seasonal cycles of Moston are likewise similar to those of Earth, as is the tilt that produces the seasons.
Because of its rapid rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). |
