Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Laoal Mne |
Planet type | Huge cold gas giant |
Its orbital period around HIP 75056 of 48000 earth days is the longest of all the planets in its solar system.
This huge cold gas giant is named after the deity Laoal Mne, the messenger of prosperity.
The planet telescopically displays the complete range of phases, similar to Venus and the Moon, as it moves in its inner orbit relative to HIP 75056, which reoccurs over the so-called synodic period approximately every 110 days.
In November 1800, NASA reported finding a large amount of underground ice in the Utopia Planitia region of Laoal Mne.
Because of its rapid rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries. |
