Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Oufyinyueh |
Planet type | Cold planet |
It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after Yongcyin'l, reaching an apparent magnitude of -5 - bright enough to cast shadows at night and, often, visible to the naked eye in broad daylight.
The planet is named after the deity Oufyinyueh, the creator of nature.
When viewed from Yongcyin'l, this proximity to HD 89307 means the planet can only be seen near the western or eastern horizon during the early evening or early morning.
As seen from HD 89307, in a frame of reference that rotates with the orbital motion, it appears to rotate only once every two years.
As the closest planet to Yongcyin'l, Oufyinyueh has been a prime target for early interplanetary exploration.
Future astrobiology missions are planned, including the Oufyinyueh 2300 and ExoOufyinyueh rovers.
Because of its fast rotation, the planet's shape is that of an oblate spheroid (it has a slight but noticeable bulge around the equator). The outer atmosphere is visibly segregated into several bands at different latitudes, resulting in turbulence and storms along their interacting boundaries.
The latest probe to visit the planet is Pointer, which entered into orbit around Oufyinyueh after a challenging ride. |
