Fictional info (?) |
Suggested name | Yanb |
Planet type | Cold planet |
For this reason, scientists often classify Yanb and Douch Yue as "cold planets" to distinguish them from the other planets. This planet is named after the deity Yanb, the spirit of the sea.
Like Douch Yue, Yanb has been orbiting HD 80869 within Tying's orbit as an inferior planet, and never exceeds 14 degrees away from HD 80869.
Yanb is gravitationally locked with HD 80869 in a 2:1 spin-orbit resonance, and rotates in a way that is unique in its solar system.
In 2880, images from Frontier 8 showed Yanb as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other cold planets. |
