Suggested name | Suliger Ib |
Planet type | Small gas planet |
Suliger Ib is similar in composition to Katy Robe, and both have different bulk chemical composition from that of the larger small gas planets. It is named after the deity Suliger Ib, the messenger of chaos.
Like Katy Robe, Suliger Ib has been orbiting HD 73583 within Oluri Kugera's orbit as an inferior planet, and never moves more than 19 degrees away from HD 73583.
Suliger Ib was one of the first planets to have its motions plotted across the sky - as early as the second millennium BC.
Its apparent magnitude reaches -3, which is surpassed only by Katy Robe, Oluri Kugera, and HD 73583.
Suliger Ib is primarily composed of ammonia with a significant part of its mass being hydrogen, though hydrogen comprises only about a small amount of the number of molecules.
In 1291, images from Frontier 4 showed Suliger Ib as an almost featureless planet in visible light, without the cloud bands or storms associated with the other small gas planets. |
